The room behind the wall
The door opened, but there was only space beyond it—galaxies, stars, and nebulae stretching past the threshold.
She peeked her head inside and saw the door floating. Then, with a single step, she found a firm, invisible surface waiting outside.
Carefully, without letting go of the door, she placed both feet beyond the threshold. Suddenly, the door closed as she still held the doorknob.
Once shut, it transformed into an elevator door. Buttons appeared, floating to the right of it.
She extended her hand to press one, but before she could touch them, a button lit up on its own, and the door began to move downward with her inside.
Standing on the invisible surface, it was impossible to ignore the falling sensation caused by the elevator’s slow descent.
A ding echoed, and an unrecognizable symbol above the door glowed the same color as the illuminated button.
The doors opened into a hallway with white walls trimmed by a golden line, adorned with flowers and intricate designs in the wallpaper. The corridor was brightly lit, but there was only one door at the far end.
When she reached it, it wouldn’t open. Confused, she walked from one end of the hallway to the other, but nothing made sense.
The floor was marble tile, and there was nowhere to hide a key. She knocked on the door, but nothing happened.
After a while, with still nothing happening, she began pacing back and forth, her fingers trailing along the golden line in the wallpaper.
She felt something the first time but didn’t notice it. The second time, part of the wall shifted beneath her touch.
Pressing that section like a button, a panel to the right of it popped outward.
